At the beginning, you have a village that’s nearly devoid of any building except the Stronghold. It’s your job this time to build structures from scratch. It could be daunting to think about what to build first, as you don’t know what most of those buildings can contribute to your village. Fortunately, Plarium has seen to it that there is a helpful tutorial to guide on your first steps in the game.
Through this tutorial, you will learn which buildings must be constructed in order to produce your resources. In this game, you will need currency like Gold, Wood, and Food. These are produced by the Sawmill, Mine and Farm, respectively.
On the other hand, to build your military capacity, you will need to construct buildings like the Marshal’s Den, the Swordsmen’s Point and others. With these two buildings alone, you can recruit a Marshal that will lead your men in battle, while Swordsmen’s Point will allow you to recruit your first line of defense and offense -- swordsmen infantry.
Constructing as well as recruiting troops into your armed forces will consume time. At the beginning, buildings take only a few seconds to build. However, as they increase in levels, upgrading them will take more than a minute. You can boost these processes for free if they are under 3 minutes, but any longer will require spending special currency.
Performing building upgrades is very important. For Farms, Mines and Sawmills, they increase each building’s productive capabilities. In other words, they are able to produce more for you at the same amount of time it does when they were not yet upgraded.
Upgrading certain community buildings can unlock other buildings as well. For example, upgrading your Stronghold to a higher level will also make it possible for you to raise the level cap on your other buildings, as well as make available other buildings that require you to be at a certain level before they can be built.
Of course, pillaging and/or plundering other strongholds are also one of the stuffs you can do here in Magecraft. Just like other browser RPGs by Plarium, sending a unit to attack other people’s bases does not require a lot of supervision from you. You can send them on your way, and go back to managing your strongholds immediately after.
The system will send a message to your inbox informing you of the results of your pillaging afterwards. This is a good way to raid and gain resources by force. You can attack other players as well after you’ve reached a certain level.
Magecraft is totally free to play, and requires only a valid Facebook account.
